This ivory shaman figure is hand-carved by Iñupiaq artist, Stanley Tocktoo, from Shishmaref Alaska. The shaman's body takes on the form of a whale and walrus. It is made from walrus ivory and the entire piece is inlaid with whale baleen and fossilized walrus ivory.
