Handmade Doll with Parka
Handmade Doll Parka Figure by Alaskan artist AK Frontier Craft Arts.
6" X 5" Alaska native birch core and real fur display piece. Made from scrap Alaskan fur with traditional parka designs. Has a stand to be displayed standing up, or can be hung as a holiday ornament. Has identification tag with fur types used and Alaska branding. Comes with a customized box and its own unique catalog number. The artist has won Class Champion at the Tanana Valley Fair, Native Doll Division.
Includes: Fur Parka Ornament, Stand, Fur Identification Tag, Flyer, and Chipboard hold punch for hanging.
The red polka dot doll has a silver fox hood, white rabbit hem and beaver mittens, mink boots, and a polka dot parka.
History: Started as a family holiday gift-giving idea. The first of four fur parka figurines were made in 2009 and sent to family in New Zealand, Germany, and the lower 48. An additional sixteen figurines were produced in 2011 and stored. In 2021 an additional thirty-four were added for a total of 50 figurines for sale in the year's holiday season. Six additional figurines have been kept for a family collection. A total of sixty figurines have been made. All are numbered and cataloged.
