The Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, is visible from the Talkeetna area from late August to early May, when the night sky is dark. "The Ponds" was shot August 31st, 2016, and shows the Auroras illuminating the Alaska Range, small ponds and the beginning of fall colors. "Mother's Day Aurora" was shot May 8th, 2016, near the Talkeetna River. The night sky darkens only at twilight at that time of the year, welcoming summer and ending the Aurora season.
